Dr. Deb Fitzpatrick, (Ph.D.), C.Psych., (She/Her)

Dr. Deb Fitzpatrick completed her Ph.D. doctoral degree at the University of Waterloo, which is one of North America’s top ranking programs in Clinical Psychology. She trained under the supervision of Dr. Donald Meichenbaum, who was voted one of the top 10 most influential psychologists of the 20th century for his development of Cognitive-Behavioural psychotherapy, and development of treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Having other pre-doctoral degrees involving Psychology and Physiology, and hospital internship training give her excellent foundations in the knowledge of mind and body. In addition to publications about sensitivity to criticism and vulnerability to depression, and romantic relationships, she is also a contributing author to books, “Handbook of Stress”, and “Driving Anxiety”. She has trained and worked at the McGill-Montreal Children’s Hospital Learning Centre, Chedoke Hospital in Hamilton, and Grand River Hospital in Kitchener.

With over 20 years experience in the field, Dr. Fitzpatrick treats each client according to their individual needs, and works collaboratively with every one. She provides service to adults, parents, adolescents and children, with added expertise in working with people who have experienced trauma and personal injury (also including first responders, and military/veterans). Treatment approaches are always tailored to you and can include one or more approaches including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Psycho-dynamic, Insight-Oriented, Emotional Focussed, Solution-Focussed Therapy, Counselling, Parental Guidance, Family Therapy, Play Therapy for Children.
